Parent Educator Series
Trauma-informed research shows the value of programs that focus on parenting education as it improves emotional regulation, manages their own response to children's undesirable behaviors, and increases their awareness and understanding of the underlying effects trauma has on their family. Parent Educator Series curriculum provides culturally responsive workshops to support and improve parenting knowledge and skills, promoting healthy relationships between children and families.
The intention of the Parent Educator Series is to help families understand ACEs and how these experiences are transferred into their parenting knowledge and skills, continuing the cycle of transgenerational trauma.
Families in our Parent Educator Series have reported they have a greater sense of awareness of how to manage their emotions using language-based self-regulation skills. Their relationships with not only their children improved but the relationships with their children's teachers and school administrators became safer and trustworthy, creating a healthy network and community.
