What are ACEs and how do they become toxic stress in the body? How does trauma affect brain architecture and impact learning? Phase 1 will explore the impact of trauma on the nervous system so participants can begin to become aware how ACEs impacts behaviors and learning When trauma is not processed, we experience the negative symptoms of emotional disconnection affecting learning and behavior. Understanding the biological and neurological impact of trauma on children and in ourselves are critical to healing working From The Root of the issues that come from trauma instead of applying a surface-level (band-aid) solutions for a much deeper societal problem. In this phase, participants are empowered with this information; they become better equiped to practice resilience by learning intentional and implement interventions that promote the healing process. Topics covered in Phase 1 include: • ACEs and toxic stress • ACEs and brain architecture and the body • ACEs and the learning • Implementation of interventions for resilience
